Pickle Jar Label Tutorial

This is how I displayed my Positive Pickles at a recent market event. I had some questions about how I made the custom label for my “pickle Jar” (aka., an old glass cookie jar). By the way, this plastic jar would probably be a much better choice for a craft show or market with kiddos involved!

To create a similar jar label for yourself, you will need access to Creative Fabrica (or use the FREE trial linked below) and Canva Pro (they also have a free 30 day trial).

This is the graphic I used as the base of my pickle jar label. It is a one-time $1.00 purchase from Creative Fabrica or you can enjoy 10 FREE downloads by taking advantage of the Free All Access Trial (trial will renew at $9.00/month, one month after your trial starts or upon using your 10th download credit). You can cancel your Creative Fabrica subscription at anytime…but if you’re anything like me, you won’t want to! Seriously, I’m completely obsessed with this site, but I’ll save that for another post. For now, I highly recommend you try it for the 10 free downloads and choose from their library of OVER 10 MILLION fonts and graphics!!

Okay, enough fan-girling over Creative Fabrica! Once you download your pickle label graphic onto your computer, head on over to Canva. You need to have a Pro account for this tutorial, but Canva offers a 30 day free trial to Canva Pro.

Upload the PNG version of the pickle label to your Canva artboard. I like to use an 8.5″x11″ design so I can see how it’s going to print out on my page.

Click edit, then click Magic Eraser.

Adjust the brush size and select all of the text you want to erase. I just clear everything out (including the pickle) so that I have a completely blank label.

I used the “Chunk 5” font for my business name and used the effects to curve it to fit the space. I used “Canva Sans” font for the rest of my text.

Then, I chose the same pickle image that came with the original download and placed it exactly where I wanted it on the label.

Adjust the size of the label to your desired dimensions and print out on cardstock. That’s it!

I hope this tutorial was helpful!!
